TECHNIQUES

There are many massage techniques and I typically integrate several of them to personalize an effective treatment session each time based on your goals and health concerns.

Swedish Massage

A wonderful full-body massage using soothing strokes, promoting relaxation, reduces pain & joint stiffness.

 

Deep Tissue Massage

A highly effective method using firm pressure concentrating on the deeper layers of the muscle.  Releases chronic stress from misalignment, repetitive motion, and prior injury/surgery.

 

Integrated Positional Therapy

A specialized technique that utilizes a non-invasive fully clothed treatment of gentle stretching, osteopathic techniques of strain counterstrain and positioning holds to release muscle tension to correct muscle imbalances. 

 

Myofascial Release

A safe and effective technique that is used by applying slow and gentle static pressure directly into the myofascial connective tissue restriction.  Relieves pain, increases range of motion and circulation.

 

Sports Massage

A therapeutic massage focusing on the particular muscles relevant to your athletic activity.  Combining gentle stretching and movement.  Promotes flexibility, relieves muscle tension, alleviates muscle fatigue; allowing you to maintain a more consistent higher level of training and performance.

Kinesiology Taping

A rehabilitative technique using special tape on the body in specific patterns & directions to help with improving the mobility to support joints, muscles & tendons.  This technique helps facilitate the body's natural healing process by targeting the soft tissue around the trigger points, allowing the healing to continue after a treatment session.

 

Trigger Point/Neuromuscular Therapy

Trigger points can be very small and localized muscle spasm and cramping that typically feel like hard bumps or knots in a muscle.  Trigger points are very painful when the slightest pressure is applied directly to them causing referred pain to specific characteristics of trigger points. 

 

Lymphatic Drainage

A specialized technique using light pressure with rhythmic sequential movements in the direction of lymphatic flow that encourages the drainage of fluids & waste.  Treatment for inflammation, sinus congestion, recent injury/sprain, detoxing and stimulates the immune system.

 

Reiki Energy Healing

Reiki is a form of alternative medicine called energy healing. Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which a "universal energy" is said to be transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient in order to encourage emotional or physical healing.

 

Oncology Massage

Oncology massage refers to the adaptation of massage that safely manipulates soft tissue of the body that enhances function and promotes relaxation & well being with anyone dealing with cancer.

 

Orthopedic Massage

Orthopedic massage is an "approach" to pain management and injury assessment by utilizing appropriate assessment tools and critical thinking skills to the application of massage techniques that are most effective in the healing process.

 

Vacuum Cupping Therapy

Cupping is a type of alternative therapy that originated in China. It involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. The suction & technique facilitates healing with blood flow. This can relieve muscle tension, trigger points, which improves overall blood flow, promotes cell repair & relieves pain.

 

Prenatal/Postnatal Massage

A gentle massage geared to relieving the muscle cramps, spasms and pain often encountered in the lower back, neck, hips and legs during pregnancy.
